Swiftflow
The Mehena Place Mehena A slow northern river whose name is simply the old word for its own nature: gentle, placid, unhurried.'s opposite and neighbour: a fast, cold, quarrelsome river off the northern heights that has drowned more confidence than any water its size. Its fords are timed, not found.
Kännetecken
- A steep, quick, snow-fed river; the northern roads cross it at three named fords and at no other place twice.
- Log-runners use it in thaw and speak of it afterwards the way soldiers speak of a commander they survived.
- Its name is plain settler speech; no old-register form is preserved for it.
