Wormflow

The braided river of the northern lowlands, a slow silver tangle that splits, wanders, rejoins, and forgets itself across a plain of reeds. Seen from the high ground it lies on the land like something alive, and the name has never needed explaining.

Key traits

  • Its official AC 50 name is Vermë'onnae, the Wyrm Flow; Wormflow is the same thought in the plainer tongue.
  • A braid of five channels and countless false ones: locals inherit the knowledge of which arm carries a boat in which season.
  • Reed-cutters and eel-fishers work its margins; its islands move a little every year, and so do their arguments.
