The south-western coast-city below the green country, where forest gives way to hard hills and the sea turns cold. In AC 50 it is a boundary town grown citywise: fisheries north, quarries south, and a garrison that mostly polices the difference.

- In AC 50 its quarry-stone moves north by sea to patch cities older than the quarries.
- Its people call themselves the hinge-folk, and both coasts agree, not always kindly.
