Uru
The bare-named city of the western plains, carrying the old world's word for beginnings with nothing added. In AC 50 it is a caravan city on the dry roads, its Iru People Iru The progenitors, and the only naturally evolved people of Elshore. cisterns the only reason the routes converge there, its people the mixture that convergence makes.

- Its name is a single old-tongue root, kin to Uru'ava, the founding name of Udhafa Place Udhafa The capital of the Maan empire and one of the great inhabited ruins of the world, an ancient Iru-founded city in eastern Tarkdaara, carved into the bedrock below the Claw Peaks...; scholars argue over which city is the elder and neither city cares.
- The great cisterns beneath it still fill from workings no one has traced; caravans time the western crossing by Uru water.
- In AC 50 it is loud, mixed, and impermanent: everyone in Uru is from somewhere else, including, originally, Uru.
