Hollowrun
A far-northern river of upper Tarkdaara Place Northland The northern continent of Elshore, called Northland in common speech, on which every chapter of the story so far unfolds., running quick and shallow through a country of glacial hollows. It is a cold, clear, stony river that sounds louder than it is, the way empty rooms do.

- Its official AC 50 name is Lako'onnae, the Hollow Flow; Hollowrun is the settlers' word and the one that survived.
- Snow-fed and impatient: high in thaw, thin by late summer, never navigable.
- Drovers of the northern circuits water at its fords and do not linger past dusk, by habit older than any reason they can give.
